You Can't Take The Skies From Me
By order of the Union of Allied Planets Eavesdown Docks is under full Landlock, no ships may enter or leave the area for the next twenty four hours. Persephone port authorities will be searching all ships; a known fugitive is believed to be hiding somewhere within the vicinity. The Alliance requests that all citizens carry on their persons their ident cards. If you see anyone acting suspiciously then report it immediately to the nearest command post...
Things are heating up down by the Docks, and it’s not just the 'Good Dogs' that are sizzling over the grill. There is civil unrest; the filthy underbelly of the city has rolled itself over for all to view and the Alliance are not happy. Tongs and Triads roam the streets, muscling in on the companies of 'legitimate businessmen', smugglers, whores and Browncoats keep rearing their ugly heads. The local garrison is spread thin, especially since the fire bombing of the Glorious Ole Opera and adjoining buildings. To make matters worse, Governor Macon has chosen this time of discord to further the objectives of his Electoral campaign and seeks to meet and greet the fair folks of the Docks. You can be assured that his rivals will be doing likewise. Combine that with the discord amongst the Companions Guild and Miss Dahlia and you have a whole heap of trouble.
Data: "You Can't Take the Sky from me..." is a freeform role-playing game for 25 players, set in the wonderful setting of Joss Whedon's Firefly/Serenity 'verse. There is no need to be a Browncoat or Firefly afficianado, however I do want players willing to throw themselves into their characters and chew scenery, new players are welcome, so long as they understand this expectation.

1) Captain Malcolm Reynolds - Captain of the Firefly Transport “Serenity”. A former Browncoat, who now has to live on the raggedy-edge.
2) Zoe Washbourne (F) - First Mate of the Serenity. One tough lady, who should not be tangled with if you favour your kneecaps.
3) Hoban `Wash' Washbourne - The Pilot of the Serenity, born behind the wheel. Wash's skills at guiding a boat through the Black are highly desired.
4) Jayne Cobb - Mercenary and hired hand onboard the Serenity.- A dumb-ass Mercenary, whose crude tongue and big guns often cause trouble.
5) `Kaylee' Fry (F) - Engineer onboard the Serenity. They say the girl can listen to the whispers of a machine and know what’s ailing it.
6) Mister Badger - An honest Persephone businessman and entrepreneur, and will shoot anyone who says otherwise.
7) Harvard `The Eraser' Berol - The so called 'Accountant', a man of numbers, his head is so full of brains it's fit to bust. But it ain't just numbers he rubs out.
8) Preston Lee - A hired gun and thug with a chip on his shoulder the size of Shinon, he advertises himself as an 'Independent Security Agent'.
9) Patience Columbine (F) - A pioneer, colonist and founder of the Whitefall colonies. One tough lady who should not be crossed.
10) Two-Fry McGurn - Through his six-shooter and rifle he keeps order on Whitefall, a place where Feds dread to step.
11) San Easterhouse - The Highgate Ambassador, his tough clannish folk are not noted for politeness or patience - and he is very late!
12) Captain Zane Renshaw - Captain of the Brutus, he has the gift of the gab, a goodd eye for business and a fierce left hook.
13) Sheriff Waylon Kruger - Captain of the Eavesdown Feds, keep order amongst the scum of Persephone.
14) Lt. Commander Truman `Top Notch' Tillman - A man of noble blood, head of the Port Authority and one he takes far too seriously.
15) Miss Dahlia Black (F) - Mistress of the Spreading Lotus House, a companion house of great notoriety; always welcoming and warm.
16) Jonah Wilkes - A tourist from the Core, here to seek his fame and fortune amongst the stars.
17) Lyle `Shanty' Capshaw - The rough and tough owner of Shanty's Inn, a place where every man with credits is welcomed.
18) Reagan 'Rusty' Witherspoon - A man down on his luck at the best of times, he currently flips burgers at the Good Dogs Grill.
19) Jondo Seers - The verbose and legendary owner of the Obsidian Star Trading Post, a place where almost anything in the Verse can be bought.
20) Aleksei Dalin - A shady character who it is rumoured can get you anything at a price. …But could you deal with a man who scares the Feds?
21) Rowdy Jessop - A cantankerous old time prospector, with yearning to make it rich and find a life of ease. ‘Till then a bottle of whisky will do.
22) Captain Delany 'Del' Tanaka - Head of Tanaka Intergalactic Trading. A fine captain but mighty lacking in crew. One day he will be a millionaire.
23) Brother Chen Su - This contemplative monk has devoted his life to defending the poor from oppression, and as a Kung Fu master he is more than able.
24) Mister-Doctor "Lee" Chia-Wun - Herbalist and Doctor of medicine, a saw bones who knows how to keep a secret.
25) Serena Lang (F) - The famed opera singer and a close friend of Lt. Commander Tillman. She is a widow of means, and she means to get what she wants. |
